Horse Pride begins in style

Manama : The first round of the Horse Pride Championship concluded yesterday at the Bahrain Military Sports Federation course, where a fierce competition was witnessed across all the competitions that were designed to accommodate different performance levels and age groups.

The championship aims at preparing horsemen for the 2017-2018 season of the horse jumping. Winning the main event, level one for senior show jumpers, was Sami Ghazwan (24.31 seconds), who was riding on Miss Adhary. He also took second place (26.47 seconds), but on a different horse, namely Raheeb, leaving third place to Maayof Al Romaihi (26.52 seconds) who was on horse Alvera.

In the second competition for senior show jumpers,  Ammar Mohammed triumphed on horse Colin, posting a time of 27.9 seconds. Finishing second and third were Kumail Al Malah (28.7 seconds) and Basel Al Dosari (30.2 seconds) respectively. 

Meanwhile, Mayoof Al Romaihi made up his third place finish in the level one competition for senior show jumpers by winning first place of the level 1 and level 2 junior events, but this time on horse Bresfal.

After the successful first round, owner of Horse Pride for Equestrian Equipment, Huda Janahi expressed her utmost happiness at the opening of this championship, underlining her company’s keenness to support the programmes and activities of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF).

She said that supporting such events contributes towards encouraging young horsemen and horsewomen to deliver their maximum performances. From his part, Haider Al Zuabi, CEO of BREEF, said that he was happy to see this level performances at the start of the new season, branding them as a ‘nice surprise’ following the long summer break.
