Indian Ambassador attends LMRA-organised Majlis

Ambassador H.E. Mr. Vinod K. Jacob accompanied by Second Secretary (Community Welfare), Mr. Ravi Kumar Jain, attended the first session of the “Majlis” initiative by Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), Kingdom of Bahrain on 09 June 2024.

During the meeting, H.E. Mr. Nibras Mohamed Talib, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) LMRA, briefed about the Majlis initiative of LMRA and the cooperation between LMRA and other stake holders including Diplomatic Missions in Bahrain.

During the Majlis, LMRA presented an update on their ongoing initiatives and special projects to the Diplomats and officials present.

During his intervention, Ambassador Jacob appreciated the work done by LMRA headed by Mr. Talib in facilitating and ensuring the well-being and welfare of Indian community in Bahrain.

The Ambassador also briefed regarding the monthly Open Houses held at the Indian Embassy, where the Indian community members meet the Ambassador without prior appointment to seek redress for their labour and consular matters.

Embassy resolves these issues with the help of relevant Government agencies including LMRA.

Ambassador Jacob also said the Embassy is willing to closely work with LMRA to create awareness regarding migration through legal channels.
