The Public Prosecution has ordered the arrest and trial of six individuals, including five Gulf nationals and one Bahraini, for their involvement in a scheme to obtain fake business licenses and work permits.
The investigation into the case began when inspectors from the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) discovered suspicious business records during a routine inspection.
Further investigation revealed that the records belonged to five individuals of Gulf nationality and were fictitious.
It was found that a Bahraini suspect, acting on behalf of the other defendants, had obtained 26 fake business licenses.
Subsequently, the group obtained 49 work permits without any legitimate need, in violation of the law.
The Public Prosecution immediately initiated an investigation, interviewing the LMRA inspector and requesting police assistance to verify the information.
One of the suspects was apprehended and questioned, and the Public Prosecution ordered his pretrial detention.
The remaining suspects, who were found to be outside Bahrain, will be extradited and brought to trial.
