In a move to promote tourism and encourage visitors to explore the capital city, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) has announced the launch of the “Tourist Passport” programme, coinciding with the Eid Al Adha holiday.
The initiative, which comes as Manama celebrates being named the Gulf Tourism Capital for 2024, aims to provide tourists with an engaging and rewarding experience as they discover the city’s rich history, cultural attractions, and modern amenities.
“We are delighted to introduce the Tourist Passport as an invitation for the world to visit Manama and explore its historic treasures and distinctive tourism destinations that blend traditional heritage and contemporary living,” said Sarah Ahmed Buheiji, the CEO of BTEA.
The Tourist Passport will grant holders access to 18 different sites, ranging from cultural and heritage landmarks to beaches, entertainment venues, dining destinations, and shopping complexes.
Moreover, the authority will conduct monthly prize drawings, with visitors earning more chances to win based on the number of sites they have visited.
“We are committed to providing new and innovative offerings in the tourism and entertainment sectors throughout the year to attract more visitors and encourage them to stay longer in the Kingdom of Bahrain,” Buheji added.
“We look forward to welcoming tourists and visitors from around the world and delivering an unforgettable experience in Manama.” The initiative is part of BTEA’s tourism promotion campaign.
