As Eid Al Adha approaches, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce has stepped up its market inspections across Bahrain, aligning with its ongoing directives to strengthen oversight and inspections during festive seasons and events.
Abdul Aziz Mohammed Al Ashraf, Assistant Undersecretary for Inspection and Resources at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, confirmed that the ministry's inspection teams have focused their efforts on markets and shops experiencing increased demand during this period. This includes visits to the Manama Central Market, the meat market, and the fish market, where they observed an abundant and diverse supply of fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish, with no signs of shortages.
The inspection teams also conducted intensive visits to shops experiencing high demand during Eid, such as those selling clothes, perfumes, shoes, Bahraini sweets, and nuts.
Mr Al Ashraf stated that they verified the validity of promotional offers and ensured that prices displayed on shelves matched those advertised at points of sale. Additionally, they checked for any commercial fraud or other violations.
