Public Prosecution Initiates Investigation into the Old Manama Souq Fire

The Public Prosecution of the Capital Governorate announced that it has initiated an investigation into the fire that broke out in the old Manama Souq yesterday, Wednesday, June 12, 2024. The fire resulted in three deaths and several injuries.
"Prosecutors immediately visited the scene of the fire and conducted an initial inspection. They examined the bodies of the deceased and appointed the Public Prosecution's forensic doctor to conduct an autopsy," a statement issued by the Public Prosecution stated.
Additionally, the Public Prosecution assigned the Crime Scene Team of the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science and the General Directorate of Civil Defense to collect evidence from the fire scene and prepare technical reports to determine the cause of the fire, as per the statement.
"The investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances and details of the incident," the statement concluded.
