Bahrainis in Chennai are safe

Bahrainis in flood-stricken Chennai, India, are safe, authorities confirmed yesterday.

As stated by the Health Ministry, a few Bahraini patients are admitted in Global Hospital in Chennai at the moment. But, the ministry confirmed that all Bahrainis there are safe and sound. “The ministry coordinated with the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in New Delhi. Necessary procedures and communications to ensure the safety of citizens there were made, as per the keen instructions of Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh,” the ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, “Treatment Abroad Office Head Dr Shaikha Abdulqader had communicated with the authorities concerned to guarantee the safety of Bahrainis in global Hospital.”

“All Bahraini patients are safe and there is no need to transfer them to other destinations.

The embassy informed the hospital about the necessity of informing it in case of any emergencies, or if Bahraini patients and their family members required any sort of assistance,” the ministry said.

The ministry said that it’s observing the latest developments of the weather and security condition in India, to assure the safety of citizens there.
