Bahraini Ambassador Confirms 8 Citizens Injured in Road Accident in Iraq

The Bahraini Ambassador to Iraq, Khalid Al Mansour, has confirmed that eight Bahraini citizens were involved in a traffic accident that occurred on a major road in Iraq on Friday morning.
In a statement to our sister newspaper "Al Ayam", Al Mansour said that the Minister of Foreign Affairs has issued instructions for immediate follow-up on the incident.
"The embassy has promptly dispatched a delegation to the Turkish Hospital in Nasiriyah, Dhi Qar Governorate. The delegation is currently en route to the hospital and is expected to arrive within a few hours to conduct a direct field assessment of the injured individuals' condition and take the necessary measures," he said.
"Initial information indicates that the Bahraini citizens are receiving medical treatment. Six of them are in stable condition, while one is in a critical state. The condition of the eighth citizen remains unclear and requires confirmation upon the embassy staff's arrival," he stated.
Al Mansour stated that the embassy will provide all necessary support to the injured and pray for their speedy recovery so that they can return to the Kingdom of Bahrain as soon as possible.
The News of Bahrain earlier reproted that one died while several others were injured in a traffic accident involving Bahraini travelers happened today, Friday, between the governorates of Dhi Qar and Basra in Iraq. According to reports, the injured have been transferred to the hospital, while the Bahraini Embassy in Iraq is monitoring the status of the wounded Bahrainis.
