Citi FACT Dining Awards announced

The Citi FACT Dining Awards 2015, Bahrain’s most exciting and prestigious annual awards, recently took place at a lavish ceremony on The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa’s private island. 

More than 400 guests from the food and beverage sector enjoyed a glamorous evening with colleagues and industry peers as all 62 winners were announced. 

A fabulous variety of food and drink was provided by all the different outlets of The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel & Spa, with great music and lively chatter creating an electric atmosphere.

From International to Middle Eastern, Cafe and Pub, the night was filled with cheer as the who’s who of the hospitality industry celebrated the night away. 

Each category presented two winners: the Best (chosen by an expert panel of judges/bloggers and anonymous reviews) and the Favourite (chosen by the public through online voting). 

The 2015 edition attracted 300,000 votes from diners in Bahrain, who came out in full force to support their favourite venues. Usman Ahmed, Citi Bahrain’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “These awards began five years ago with 20,000 votes cast by the customers when they pay their bill at 40 restaurants. Today, we have 300,000 votes, an expert panel of judges in addition to the public’s online voting, and more than 150 restaurants participating in the awards categories. The growing popularity of the awards is a testimony of how successful they have become and of the demand Bahrain has for good food taste. It was indeed a pleasure to witness the ceremony and host the restaurants and guests to a fun filled event”.  In the overall category, the Best winner for 2015 was La Vinoteca and the Favourite winner for 2015 was Trader Vic’s.
