Causeway travel advisory

The Daily Tribune – www.newsofbahrain.com

The King Fahd Causeway Authority has urged all travelers crossing the causeway to Bahrain to ensure they possess the necessary documents and comply with procedures and instructions from the relevant authorities.

This advisory comes as the causeway anticipates high traffic volumes during the Eid Al Adha holiday, which may lead to procedural delays and lane disruptions, causing traffic congestion and longer crossing times.

According to the authorities, citizens must carry their original national ID card valid for at least three months, or a passport with similar validity.

Requirements

Travelers with domestic staff are required to provide a valid residence permit, passport, and exit/re-entry visa, accompanied by their employer or family.

Residents must carry a passport or travel document valid for at least 6 months, along with an electronic exit/re-entry visa.

Additionally, the causeway authority emphasizes the importance of ensuring vehicles have all necessary documentation, including a valid driver’s license for the driver, vehicle registration certificate, or authorization from the vehicle owner.

Vehicle insurance

Travelers are encouraged to secure vehicle insurance beforehand to prevent delays and use the “Jisr” app for seamless toll payments, avoiding the need to stop for manual payments.

The King Fahd Causeway is crucial for connecting Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, especially during peak periods like major holidays.

These reminders aim to facilitate a smooth and efficient crossing experience for all travelers during the upcoming Eid Al Adha celebrations.
