Bahrain Film Festival 2024 seeks Arab film submissions

The management of the Bahrain Film Festival 2024 has announced that it has received 410 short Arab films for its competition. This includes five main categories: short narrative films, short documentaries, animation films, Bahraini films, and student films. Participation in the competition is still open to producers and filmmakers until Monday, July 1, 2024.

Interested parties can submit their applications through the festival’s website, www.bahrainfilmfestival.org, which provides an electronic mechanism for submission and follow-up.

Cinematic works

The festival is open to all Bahraini and Arab directors and filmmakers, both amateurs and professionals, in various cinematic works produced after January 1, 2023, and which have not previously been shown in cinema, television, or online spaces.

Participation in more than one film is permitted, provided that the duration of each film does not exceed 30 minutes. While the film does not need to be in Arabic, it must include Arabic subtitles, and the maker must have an Arab nationality. For Arabic-speaking films, English subtitles are required.

The fourth session of the Bahrain Film Festival is scheduled to take place next November as part of the “Manama Capital of Arab Media” activities, organized by the Bahrain Cinema Club and in partnership with the Ministry of Information Affairs.
