Despite the scorching temperatures coinciding with Eid al-Adha celebrations, swimming pools in Bahrain are experiencing a dip in bookings compared to previous years. Several factors are attributed to this decline, including high prices, the timing of the holiday mid-month, and increased competition within the industry.

Swimming pools have traditionally been a popular destination for families and youth during Eid holidays, with bookings typically spiking during this period. However, pool owners report a noticeable decrease in reservations this year.

"The demand is moderate, not like in previous years," said an owner of a local swimming pool, attributing the decline to factors such as travel plans, the Hajj season, and the timing of Eid mid-month, which makes pool outings less of a priority for families and youth.

Prices also play a role, with small pools starting at 50 Bahraini dinars, medium-sized pools at 70 dinars, and large pools with premium amenities reaching 120 dinars.

Another owner echoed similar sentiments, adding: "The demand is weak, with prices starting from 80 dinars on weekdays and 100-120 dinars on weekends and public holidays."

He attributed the decline to the proliferation of swimming pools in Bahrain. "Five years ago, there were no more than 35 pools. Now, there are 150, making competition fierce and demand low," he underlined.
