Astronomy researcher Mohammed Redha Al Asfoor has announced that Bahrain will witness the first full moon of the summer season today and tomorrow. This event coincides with the astronomical start of summer, which occurs at 11.50 tonight.
The full moon will reach its peak at 100% tomorrow, at 4:07am, local time in Bahrain. Al Asfoor explained that the full moon of June is known as the “Strawberry Moon,” a name originating from Native American tribes, referring to the strawberry harvest season in the US. This name has no actual effect on the moon’s appearance or color.
