Historic Event for Bahrain
Bahrain is set to host its first international high-diving competition, the High Diving World Cup 2024, on September 21-22. Sponsored by GFH Financial Group and organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) in collaboration with World Aquatics, this event marks Bahrain's debut on the global aquatics stage.
Elite Competition
Over 50 elite male and female divers will compete from platforms up to 27 meters high against the stunning backdrop of Bahrain Financial Harbour in Manama. This competition also serves as a qualifier for the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.
Local Excitement and Support
Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, president of the BOC, expressed excitement: “The Kingdom of Bahrain is very excited to welcome the world to Manama for this thrill-seeking event.”
Partnership and Growth
The BOC and World Aquatics formalized the agreement earlier this year, with support from GFH Financial Group providing the venue and facilities. World Aquatics president Husain Al Musallam praised Bahrain’s growing commitment to aquatics sports, highlighting the newly established World Aquatics Center of Excellence at the University of Technology Bahrain.
Fostering Local Talent
This event signifies a broader engagement with aquatics beyond swimming, aiming to foster local talent and raise Bahrain's profile in global sports.
