The Chief Prosecutor of Ministries and Public Entities announced that the Public Prosecution has completed its investigations into the illegal shrimp fishing incident involving the use of bottom trawl nets during the ban period.
Five defendants have been referred to the Sixth Minor Criminal Court, with a hearing scheduled for tomorrow.
The case originated from a report by the Coast Guard leadership, detailing the arrest of four Indian nationals in the Khor Fasht area.
The individuals were apprehended on a pleasure boat while fishing for shrimp using bottom trawl nets. Upon sighting the security patrol, they attempted to flee but were subsequently captured.
Approximately 60 kilograms of fresh shrimp were seized from their possession. The Public Prosecution initiated investigations immediately after being informed of the incident
