Capital Governorate Gears Up for Ashura Season

His Excellency Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Governor of the Capital Governorate, has emphasised the governorate's commitment to coordinating and cooperating with security and service departments to provide the best possible services to mourners and processions in the Capital Governorate during the Ashura season.

This statement came during His Excellency's chairmanship of the governorate's security committee meeting, attended by Mr. Hassan Abdullah Al Madani, Deputy Governor, Brigadier Isa Hasan Al Qattan, Director-General of Capital Governorate Police Directorate, as well as representatives of the relevant security departments at the Ministry of Interior.

The attendees discussed the security and service preparations for the upcoming Ashura season and ways to ensure its occurrence in an atmosphere of security and peace, presenting it in the usual civilised image that distinguishes the Kingdom of Bahrain.

His Excellency Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa confirmed that the Capital Governorate will hold a coordination meeting to discuss Ashura season arrangements with the Jaafari Endowments, members of the Hussaini Processions Commission, heads and officials of mourning halls, and security and service authorities.

The committee also discussed during the meeting a number of topics related to security aspects within the capital, in addition to plans and efforts aimed at strengthening stability and maintaining community security.
