Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, has expressed his pride in Bahrain's continued recognition as a leader in the fight against human trafficking. For the seventh consecutive year, the Kingdom has achieved a Tier 1 ranking in the U.S. Department of State's 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report, solidifying its position as a global champion of human rights.

"This achievement is a testament to the Kingdom of Bahrain's unwavering commitment to upholding human rights and safeguarding the dignity of all individuals," Dr. Al Zayani stated. He attributed this success to the country's deeply rooted humanitarian values, a robust legislative framework, and a comprehensive judicial and executive system. These efforts are guided by the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, who has consistently prioritised the protection of human rights.

Dr. Al Zayani expressed his sincere gratitude for this remarkable accomplishment, extending his heartfelt congratulations to His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He also expressed his appreciation to the dedicated efforts of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labour, and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) for their unwavering support in combating human trafficking.

The Minister highlighted the collaborative efforts of various ministries, including the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Foreign Affairs, Labour, Social Development, and Information, as well as the LMRA. He acknowledged the crucial role played by the judiciary, represented by the Supreme Judicial Council and the Anti-Trafficking Prosecution Office, along with human rights organisations, civil society, and diplomatic missions. He further emphasised the importance of knowledge exchange with the United States and relevant international organisations.

Dr. Al Zayani reaffirmed Bahrain's unwavering commitment to advancing its human rights achievements and maintaining its leading position in the global arena. He underscored the country's commitment to implementing advanced legislative and regulatory measures in line with Law No. (1) of 2008 on Combating Trafficking in Persons. These efforts are aligned with the National Human Rights Plan and international human rights standards, reflecting the visionary leadership of His Majesty the King and the government's dedication under the guidance of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
