The United Insurance Company (UIC) has announced that short-term insurance (3, 5, 10 days) for vehicles entering the Kingdom of Bahrain via the King Fahd Causeway will be available exclusively through electronic channels starting July 1st, 2024. The minimum insurance period obtainable at insurance booths will be one month.
UIC stated that this move aims to enhance the various insurance services offered to vehicles crossing the King Fahd Causeway, facilitate the process of obtaining insurance, and ensure smooth and easy passage for travelers across the bridge.
The electronic insurance service allows for the issuance of insurance policies and payment of fees electronically. It also enables the issuance of an insurance policy before crossing the King Fahd Causeway.
Commenting on this occasion, Ms. Maysa Al Kooheji, CEO of UIC, said, "This procedure is among the initiatives that the company is working on implementing, which fall within the framework of the comprehensive digital transformation policy that the company is witnessing in all its operations." She added that this step comes in completion of the new stage of the company's service development journey, which was announced in January and launched with the inauguration of its new logo and visual identity.
Electronic insurance is available through the "United Insurance" application, which can be easily downloaded from the app store. Insurance can also be obtained through the company's official website www.uic.bh, the "Jesr" application, the "etraffic" application, and through the e-Government portal of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
