Bahrain honours Artificial Intelligence leaders at 3rd World CIO 200 Summit

The Kingdom of Bahrain hosted the prestigious Third World CIO 200 Summit yesterday, which recognised 38 key executives for their significant contributions to Artificial Intelligence (AI) advancements across the nation.

The event, held under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chairman of the General Sports Authority, was a collaborative effort between the Global AI Group, UAE’s GEC Media, the General Sports Authority, and the His Highness Shaikh Nasser Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Centre.

His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed presented awards to the 38 executives for their pioneering roles in driving and supporting AI initiatives in various sectors.

These include education, industry, finance, insurance, shipping, and healthcare, encompassing both public and private entities.

Six distinguished individuals will now advance to the final stages of the competition, which will be held in Cape Town, South Africa.

This summit stands as the biggest AI-focused event of its kind in the region. It celebrates executives who demonstrate exceptional commitment and dedication towards developing robust organisational strategies that effectively integrate AI solutions.

Dr. Jassim Haji, President of the Global AI Group and the conference, commended the forward-thinking approach of Bahraini executives in adopting AI advancements and spearheading institutional development through cutting-edge solutions.

He highlighted how the conference serves as a culmination of the pioneering initiatives and innovative approach championed by His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, a key figure in driving AI advancement within Bahrain.

Dr. Haji emphasised the critical role of AI development in shaping a prosperous future for Bahrain. He pointed out the immense potential this technology holds for creating promising career paths for graduates from computer science and AI programs. By fostering AI growth, Bahrain strengthens its national competencies, boosting productivity and efficiency across the Kingdom.
