Capital Governorate Police Department Arrests Suspect in Large-Scale Fraud Case

The Capital Governorate Police has arrested a 39-year-old man for fraud, embezzlement of funds from multiple individuals, and theft of approximately 250,000 Bahraini dinars.
A statement issued by the Capital Governorate Police explained that upon receiving complaints regarding the matter, police initiated investigations to gather evidence. The suspect was found to be deceiving victims into agreeing to import cars from outside the Kingdom at reduced prices. He would accept money from them without delivering the vehicles. Additionally, he forged insurance documents for fictional cars.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the suspect would convince victims to send him money by claiming he could source cars at low cost through overseas contacts. However, he never provided the cars after receiving payments, totaling around 250,000 BD collectively from various people.
The Capital Governorate Police Department stated that legal proceedings as required by law are underway. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
