Bahrain Takes a Firm Stand on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking

Today marks Illicit Trafficking, a global observance dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of combating the drug trade. As nations around the world renew their commitment to this cause, Bahrain stands out as a beacon of rigorous enforcement and proactive prevention in the fight against drugs.

Bahrain's leadership has long recognized the detrimental impact of drug abuse on individuals, families, and society as a whole. In recent years, the Kingdom has intensified its efforts to curb drug-related activities through a multi-faceted approach encompassing strict law enforcement, comprehensive rehabilitation programs, and robust public education campaigns.

Strict Law Enforcement

The Bahraini government has adopted stringent measures to combat drug trafficking and consumption. The National Anti-Narcotics Committee, in collaboration with various law enforcement agencies, has been instrumental in identifying and dismantling drug networks operating within and across the Kingdom's borders. Enhanced surveillance, increased patrols, and strategic international partnerships have all contributed to a significant reduction in drug trafficking activities."We are committed to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards drug trafficking and abuse," stated Interior Minister General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. "Our efforts are relentless, and we will continue to deploy all necessary resources to protect our citizens from the scourge of drugs."

Comprehensive Rehabilitation Programs

The Bahrain National Rehabilitation Center (BNRC) offers state-of-the-art facilities and professional support to help individuals recover from addiction and reintegrate into society.
