The Capital Governorate Police arrested a 39-year-old man accused of deceiving victims into agreeing to import cars from outside the Kingdom at reduced prices.

The suspect accepted money from the victims without delivering the vehicles and forged insurance documents for fictional cars.

He was apprehended for fraud, embezzlement of funds from multiple individuals, and the theft of approximately BD250,000.

A statement issued by the Capital Governorate Police explained that, upon receiving complaints regarding the matter, police initiated investigations to gather evidence.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the suspect convinced victims to send him money by claiming he could source cars at low cost through overseas contacts.

However, he never provided the cars after receiving payments, which collectively amounted to around BD250,000 from various people.

The Capital Governorate Police Department stated that legal proceedings are underway as required by law. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
