Government Agencies Hire 1,689 New Employees, Women Hold Majority

New data has revealed that government agencies hired 1,689 new employees last year, spanning 360 different job titles.

The data indicated that 51% of the new employees were hired for educational roles, 29% for specialised positions, 16% for general roles, and 4% for executive roles.

Women constituted the majority of the new hires, securing 1,121 positions, or 66.4% of the total, compared to 568 positions, or 33.6%, for men.

The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) reported that it submitted 8,600 CVs of candidates for vacant positions last year to ministries and government agencies, competing for 1,689 new jobs. The bureau noted that government ministries accounted for 1,091 of the new positions, while 598 roles were within other government agencies.

The CSB also reported receiving 17,557 applications for employment via the digital system over the past year, with 360 job titles specified. Six positions were announced through various media outlets, attracting 40 qualified applicants.

The CSB succeeded in completing 49,455 procedures related to new employment operations last year. These procedures encompassed 41 services, with 98.8% completed by year’s end.

Additionally, the CSB confirmed that its performance system was operational throughout the past year, determining the basic capabilities required to measure employee performance across various government agencies. This system ensures that these capabilities align with the job level and objectives that employees are expected to achieve, including the evaluation mechanism and durations.
