Women constituted a majority of new hires by government agencies to various positions last year, reflecting a significant trend in their pivotal role in Bahrain’s nation-building and progress.

According to new data, women secured 1,121 positions, comprising 66.4% of all hires, compared to 568 positions filled by men.

Highlighting a diverse employment landscape, the data also reveals that government agencies across Bahrain hired a total of 1,689 employees in 2023, spanning 360 different job titles.

Educational roles accounted for 51% of new hires, followed by specialized positions at 29%, general roles at 16%, and executive roles at 4%.

The Civil Service Bureau (CSB) played a crucial role in facilitating these hires, submitting 8,600 CVs to ministries and government agencies.

Of the new positions, 1,091 were allocated to government ministries, while 598 roles were filled within other government agencies.

Digital system

Throughout the year, the CSB managed 17,557 applications through its digital system, specifying 360 job titles.

Media announcements for six positions attracted 40 qualified applicants, underscoring robust public interest.

Efficiency was key as the CSB completed 49,455 procedures related to new employment operations, achieving a remarkable 98.8% completion rate by year’s end.

The bureau’s operational performance system ensured that employee capabilities aligned seamlessly with job expectations and objectives, enhancing organizational effectiveness across government entities.
