Hamad Town entrance could undergo a series of significant enhancements as the Northern Municipal Council recommended a development and beautification project to the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture during its latest weekly meeting.

This initiative aspires to transform the area, particularly the street leading to Roundabout 22 between Blocks 1215 and 1216, near the main gate of the University of Bahrain.

The project aims to improve the aesthetics and functionality of the area.

The proposed development will incorporate a modern design, consonant with the Kingdom's vision for sustainable development.

The project seeks to improve the overall appearance of the entrance, thereby creating a welcoming and visually appealing experience for both residents and visitors.

Abdulla Ebrahim Al Thawadi, a Municipal Council member representing District 11, proposed the project.

"This street is a vital area, as it hosts many events that attract tourists from around the globe," he explained.

"The proposal aims to enhance service projects and achieve sustainable development goals in Bahrain." Central to the beautification plan is the inclusion of flora such as bougainvillaea or oleander trees, which flourish in Bahrain's climate.

Furthermore, Al Thawadi suggests the installation of a model Formula 1 car near the proposed location of the Bahrain International Circuit.

This element, reflecting the community's wishes, celebrates Bahrain's affiliation with this prestigious motorsport event.

The Northern Municipal Council's recommendation now awaits approval from the Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture.
