A 25-year-old Asian man was arrested for drug trafficking and possession after an undercover operation by Bahrain's anti-narcotics police. The suspect, who was caught in a sting operation orchestrated by police using an informant, reportedly admitted to selling and using drugs for a mere 800 fils per transaction.

The case is currently before the High Criminal Court, with a hearing scheduled for 14 July. The suspect faces charges of possessing "methamphetamine" with intent to supply and possessing "morphine" and "methamphetamine" with intent to use. A 40-year-old woman is also facing charges of possessing "methamphetamine" with intent to supply.

The arrest came after police received confidential information about the suspect's drug dealing activities. An informant, under police supervision, contacted the suspect and arranged to buy "shabu" (crystal meth) for 12 dinars. The exchange was filmed and took place near a hotel in Manama.

After the transaction, the informant handed over the purchased substance to police, who then followed the suspect to his flat. Police apprehended him upon entering his flat and found the 12 dinars on his person. A second suspect, the 40-year-old woman, was also found in the flat and arrested.

A search of the flat revealed seven packages of a crystal-like substance believed to be "shabu," two scales suspected of being used for drug dealing, and a quantity of cash.

During questioning, the suspect confessed to selling and using drugs, stating he obtained "shabu" from other Asians and sold it to them in exchange for drugs for personal use and 800 fils per transaction.

Laboratory tests confirmed the seized substances were "methamphetamine," and both suspects tested positive for "methamphetamine." The female suspect also tested positive for "morphine."
