His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, presided over the regular weekly assembly of the Cabinet today at Gudaibiya Palace.

Commencing the proceedings, the Cabinet extended its highest congratulations and blessings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on the occasion of the approaching new Hijri year 1446, asking God Almighty to make it a year of benevolence and prosperity upon Bahrain and its citizens, and security and safety for the Arab and Islamic nations.

In adherence to the royal decree issued by His Majesty the King, aimed at formulating a strategy to safeguard the historical and cultural essence of Bahrain's buildings, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has mandated the initiation of a comprehensive scheme to rejuvenate the historic Manama Souq area. The objective is to maintain its historical and cultural identity whilst addressing the infrastructural requirements of the local community.

Within the framework of the high directives of His Majesty the King, and the presidency of the Kingdom of Bahrain for the thirty-third Arab Summit, to follow up on unfolding developments and the military escalation on the Lebanese-Israeli border, the Council stressed the necessity of avoiding the broadening of the conflict, thus safeguarding the security of fraternal Lebanon and striving towards peace and stability in the region.

Subsequently, the Cabinet directed the importance of the concerned authorities sustaining their endeavours to combat human trafficking, thereby reinforcing Bahrain’s status as a leader in safeguarding the rights of workers and employers. This is further evidenced by Bahrain's consistent Tier 1 ranking in the US State Department's Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report for the seventh consecutive year.

This accolade mirrors the vision and aspirations of His Majesty the King, and the directives of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in their quest to establish justice and protect the rights of all parties within the labour market.
