The High Criminal Court court has ordered the release of security camera footage from a private hospital in connection with a drug trafficking case involving a doctor. The court responded to a request by the defendant's lawyer, Abdulrahman Ghanim, who argued that the footage would be crucial in proving his client's innocence.

The case involves three defendants: a 29-year-old doctor, a 24-year-old man, and a 34-year-old man.

The doctor and the second defendant are accused of possessing and selling cannabis with intent to traffic, as well as possessing and using controlled substances.

The third defendant is accused of possessing and using the stimulant shabu.

The incident occurred when police received a report about a car being used to dispose of items in a sewage pipe in Riffa.

The car was traced back to the third defendant, who was arrested and searched with a warrant. He admitted to being involved in a drug transaction and revealed that he obtained the drugs from the doctor and the second defendant.

He then agreed to help police apprehend them.

The third defendant called the doctor, who agreed to sell him a quantity of Cannabidiol (CBD) for 20 Bahraini Dinars.

The exchange was to take place near the hospital where the doctor worked. Police set up a sting operation and arrested the doctor after he allegedly discarded a plastic container containing a liquid believed to be a controlled substance.

A search of the doctor's car revealed more plastic containers with the same substance.

The doctor claimed that the drugs belonged to the second defendant, who had left them in his car before traveling abroad. The second defendant was later arrested upon his return to Bahrain.

During the investigation, the third defendant admitted to purchasing drugs from the doctor and the second defendant on multiple occasions.

Phone records revealed numerous messages related to drug sales on the doctor's WhatsApp account.

The court will reconvene on July 9th, where the defense lawyers will continue to argue for their clients' acquittal.

The doctor's lawyer maintains that his client was not caught in a drug bust and that the substance found in his possession was a prescription medication.

The second defendant's lawyer claims that her client was not in Bahrain at the time of the incident and that no drugs were found with him. The third defendant's lawyer maintains her previous arguments for his acquittal.

The court's decision to release the hospital camera footage could prove crucial in determining the truth of the allegations against the doctor.
