The Capital Governorate Police announced in a statement arresting a 39-year-old Asian man for allegedly defrauding several individuals by falsely claiming to work for a travel agency and offering tickets at discounted prices. The suspect used social media platforms to advertise his services.
According to police reports, the suspect would then cancel the flight bookings for the tickets he sold and pocket the refunds.
Following multiple complaints, the police launched an investigation, gathering evidence and identifying the suspect. He was subsequently nabbed and legal proceedings are underway, the statement pointed out. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
