The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the results of a week-long inspection campaign targeting violations of labor laws in Bahrain. From June 30th to July 6th, the LMRA conducted 616 inspections across the country, leading to the detention of 50 irregular workers and the deportation of 118 violators.

The inspections focused on identifying and addressing breaches of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority Law and the Residency Law. Legal actions were taken against those found in violation.

The LMRA's efforts included 600 individual inspections at commercial establishments in all governorates. Additionally, 16 joint inspection campaigns were conducted in collaboration with various government bodies. These included the Ministry of Interior's Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), security directorates, the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.

The LMRA stressed its commitment to working with other government agencies to intensify these inspections. Their aim is to combat violations and practices that negatively impact the stability, competitiveness, and overall security of Bahrain's labor market.

The authority also appealed to the public for their cooperation in reporting any suspected violations or irregular employment practices. Complaints can be submitted through the LMRA's website (https://lmra.gov.bh/en/home), the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), or by calling the LMRA call center at 17506055.
