Ten new schools to be built: Minister

Manama

Education Minister Dr. Majid bin Ali Al Nuaimi has revealed the ministry’s plans to build 10 new schools during the next three years, in order to accommodate 11 thousand new students next year.

He said that the Kingdom succeeded in providing education for everyone. “Bahrain was ranked among the high-performing countries in achieving the goals of Education for All, according to the reports of international organisations like the UNESCO, which issues one of the most important specialised reports in the world “Education for All Global Monitoring Report,” he explained.

The Minister said that there are great efforts underway to improve the school environment, modernise the infrastructure of existing schools and provide them with the Internet to enhance the digital empowerment and e-learning.

He affirmed the Ministry’s keen interest in the private education’s sector, through carrying out inspection visits to private schools throughout the school year to be informed about the workflow of the educational process. The Minister added that about 31 applications to open private schools were being examined before they were approved.
