Alba backs Ironman race in the Kingdom

The first ever Ironman Middle East Championship, the Ironman 70.3, will be held in Bahrain tomorrow, as Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba) extends its as a sponsor.

Alba, one of the leading companies in Bahrain, combined its passion for sports with its commitment to philanthropy by sponsoring the Ironman championship here, according to a company statement yesterday. 

This unique point-to-point triathlon is a carefully designed swim, bike, and run course that will pass by Bahrain’s most astounding historical and contemporary attractions such as Al Fateh Grand Mosque, the Gudaibiya Historic Palace, Bahrain Museum, Bahrain Bay, Four Seasons Landmark Hotel, Bahrain World Trade Centre, Bahrain Financial Harbour, Dilmun Burial Mounds, National Charter Monument, The Oil Museum, Al Areen Wildlife Park and end at the Bahrain International Circuit. 

With more than 600 athletes who have registered for this event, 40 qualifying slots are up for grabs to the 2016 world championships in Australia.
