Bahrain has been recognised as the third safest country in the Gulf region and the 20th safest globally in 2024, according to a recent report by CEOWORLD magazine. This accolade reflects the Kingdom's efforts to maintain a secure environment for both its citizens and visitors.

The report also ranked the United Arab Emirates as the safest country in the Gulf and the second safest globally, followed by Saudi Arabia at second in the Gulf and 16th worldwide. Kuwait and Qatar followed closely behind, securing fourth and fifth positions in the Gulf and 36th and 60th positions globally, respectively. Oman rounded out the Gulf rankings at sixth and 147th globally.

Andorra, nestled in the Pyrenees between Spain and France, emerged as the world's safest country in 2024. Despite its small population of approximately 82,000, Andorra attracts over 3.5 million visitors annually, making it the country with the highest number of tourists per capita.

The report stresses the importance of identifying the world's safest countries, especially in the context of ongoing international conflicts and instability. It notes that the high crime rate in some African countries led to a $48 billion decrease in investment flows to the continent in 2023, negatively impacting tourism.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Palestine, which has faced prolonged Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, was ranked as the least safe country globally, placing 188th.
