His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, has approved a plan for scholarships and grants allocated to Bahraini students who graduated from the academic year 2023-2024 with an average of 90% or above in public and private schools. Competition will be open for 1,600 scholarships. Students with an average of 95% or more will receive scholarships according to the announced plan, while those with an average of 90% to 94.9% will be granted about 2,400 grants.

The Minister emphasised that the allocation of these scholarships and grants demonstrates the significant support the educational process receives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with close attention and interest from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, and Prime Minister. The only criterion for scholarship and grant competition is the student’s cumulative GPA.

The Minister of Education confirmed that the Ministry is committed to granting students who achieved a cumulative GPA of 95% or more a scholarship in their chosen field if they opt to study at the University of Bahrain or Bahrain Polytechnic, provided they meet the university’s admission standards.

The Minister also revealed that this year’s scholarship plan has seen significant advancement, with six scholarships allocated in both the United States of America and the United Kingdom, including two scholarships at Indiana University in Manufacturing, Automation and Control Engineering. Through coordination with the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, the number of scholarships in nursing has increased from 120 last year to 300 this year, due to the high demand and employment opportunities in the health sector. Scholarships also cover seats in medicine, engineering, and other university specialisations.

For the first time, the Ministry is offering scholarships in theatre and music in Kuwait for students of the Arts/literary track, providing outstanding students the opportunity to continue their university studies in prestigious artistic institutes.

The Ministry invited outstanding students who graduated in the academic year 2023-2024 with a cumulative average of 95% or more and wish to compete for scholarships to visit the Ministry’s website (www.moe.gov.bh) or the national portal of Bahrain (www.bahrain.bh) to complete registration procedures, starting on Wednesday, 10 July 2024 at 8:00 AM until the end of Saturday, 13 July 2024.
