The High Criminal Court has adjourned a case involving an assault resulting in permanent disability to July 29th for sentencing. The case involves a 38-year-old defendant accused of assaulting the victim, causing injuries that resulted in a 10% permanent disability.

The defendant claimed to judges at the High Criminal Court the incident was a misunderstanding and that the issue had been resolved with the victim. The victim also expressed his desire to drop the criminal charges.

The Public Prosecution had charged the defendant with assaulting the victim on February 29th of this year, causing injuries that were documented in a forensic medical report and resulted in permanent disability.

According to the victim's testimony, the incident occurred at a hotel in the Juffair area. While he was with an Asian woman, the defendant approached him from behind and struck him forcefully on the back with both hands.

The victim stated that the defendant was in an agitated state and, when he turned to confront him, asked him to leave as he did not want any trouble. The defendant then punched the victim in the left ear with a strong blow, causing pain and swelling.

The Asian woman corroborated the victim's account, adding that the victim continued to complain about his ear and told her he could no longer hear properly.

A forensic medical report confirmed that the victim's injury to the left ear was consistent with a direct blow from a hand, as described in the case file. The report also stated that the victim continues to experience congestion and conductive hearing loss in his left ear. Based on a hearing test conducted at the hospital, the report concluded that the victim has a 10% permanent disability in his left ear.
