Al Asoomi seeks unity for Arab security and stability

Adel Al Asoomi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament and member of the Shura Council, presided over the closing session of the Parliament’s fourth Convening Period of the Third Legislative Term at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
In his opening speech, the Speaker commended His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his efforts in enhancing joint Arab initiatives and maintaining security and stability in the region through Bahrain’s balanced foreign policy.
This policy calls for the resolution of regional conflicts and stresses the importance of supporting His Majesty’s proposal for an international peace conference, announced during the recent Arab summit under HM the King ’s patronage.
The session reviewed the current situation across the Arab world, issuing several decisions on various matters.
Draft decisions and laws from parliamentary committees were discussed, focusing on monitoring political events and developments in Arab countries this year.
Political solutions
The session aimed to address Arab crises and issues through political solutions.
Additionally, discussions covered the current economic conditions in the Arab region, promoting joint Arab initiatives, and reviewing a draft parliamentary vision to counter the travel of terrorists and criminalise their transportation between Arab countries.
A draft comprehensive Arab parliamentary vision to enhance security and stability in the Arab world was also examined.
