Community Partnership Leads to Planting of 50 Seedlings in Isa Town

In a joint initiative between the Southern Municipality and the Dar Al Manar Association for Parental Care, along with the Southern Municipal Council, a tree planting event was held at the Community Centre in Isa Town.

The event saw the planting of 50 seedlings, attended by the Centre's Board of Directors Chairman Adnan Mohammed Al Maliki, Dar Al Manar Director Moza Nass, Municipal Council Members Abdullah Darraj and Mubarak Faraj, as well as park and garden engineers and other municipal officials.

The tree planting was part of the second phase of the "Sawaed" awareness campaign, aimed at promoting environmental and community consciousness. During the event, the centre's elderly residents participated in planting various types of trees. Awareness gifts were also distributed, and the participants were honoured.

The "Sawaed" campaign was launched by the Ministry of Municipal and Agricultural Affairs in cooperation with municipalities and municipal councils. It involves organising diverse community partnership events such as planting drives, tree distribution, coastal cleanups, and the enforcement of Cleanliness Law No. 10 of 2019.

The campaign aims to activate the role of individuals and institutions, foster social responsibility, and engage all age groups and community segments in initiatives that contribute to environmental preservation, public cleanliness, and proper waste disposal. It also seeks to involve the community in afforestation efforts to increase green cover and enhance the aesthetic and cultural appeal of the areas.

The awareness campaign will continue throughout the year to promote environmental and urban consciousness for sustainable development in the community.
