Bahrain denounces assassination attempt on Trump

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, sent cables to former US President Donald Trump, a Republican presidential candidate, strongly denouncing the assassination attempt on him during his campaign rally in Pennsylvania.
HM the King and HRH Prince Salman condemned all forms of political violence that contravene democratic norms and values.
They expressed his relief that former President Trump is safe.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it affirmed that the assassination attempt is a crime that contravenes democratic principles.
The ministry wished the former president health and safety, and that the US election campaigns would continue in peace, without any form of violence and terrorism.
The ministry expressed the Kingdom’s solidarity with the US and highlighted the longstanding relations between the two nations.
It also extended wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured and expressed hopes for continued security, stability, and prosperity for the American people.
