Imam Hussain Blood Donation Campaign breaks records with massive donor turnout

The Imam Hussain Blood Donation Campaign, in its 26th year, witnessed a large turnout of donors on its first day, which was held at Al Hilal Hospital.
The campaign dedicated the eighth of Muharram (Monday) for women, collecting 50 units of blood, while the second day (Tuesday) coinciding with the ninth of Muharram, was dedicated to men, where the initial collection exceeded 330 units of blood within hours.
The campaign’s organising committee announced their readiness to set a new record in the history of this campaign, which is considered the first community-based blood donation campaign in the Kingdom, after the final statistics of the campaign are released.
This year’s campaign slogan, “Hussain’s Legacy,” reflects a journey filled with giving and extending for over a quarter of a century without interruption. The campaign was launched by the Al Nuaim Charity Association, in coordination and support from the Ministry of Health, represented by the Central Blood Bank.
