The Kingdom of Bahrain has successfully concluded the third phase of its national afforestation campaign, “Stay Green,” with impressive results.
According to the National Initiative for Agricultural Sector Development, 40,043 trees and shrubs have been planted across 14,243 square meters and 7,463 linear meters, completing 47 afforestation projects throughout the country.
This ambitious undertaking was accomplished through collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture, the Supreme Council for the Environment, and various stakeholders from both public and private sectors.
H.E. Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, expressed her gratitude to all participants.
She highlighted that this campaign aligns with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to address climate challenges and achieve Bahrain’s commitment to reach net zero emissions by 2060.
The initiative, launched under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of His Majesty the King and Chairperson of the Advisory Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, saw widespread participation across the kingdom.
