Minister of Justice Announces 7th September By-Election Date for Vacant Seat in Muharraq Governorate

His Excellency Nawaf bin Mohammed Al-Maawda, the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Waqf, has issued Resolution No. 59 of 2024 regarding the scheduling of a by-election for the membership of the Council of Representatives in the vacant constituency of the First Constituency in Muharraq Governorate.
According to the resolution, registered voters in the First Electoral Constituency of Muharraq Governorate are invited to cast their ballots on Saturday, 7 September 2024, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM to elect a new member to the Council of Representatives. In the event a re-election is required, it will be held on Saturday, 14 September 2024, during the same hours.
The resolution further states that elections for this constituency will also be held at Bahraini embassies, consulates, and diplomatic missions abroad on Tuesday, 3 September 2024. If a re-election is necessary, it will take place on Tuesday, 10 September 2024.
Nominations for the Council of Representatives seat in the First Electoral Constituency of Muharraq Governorate will be open from Saturday, 10 August 2024, until Monday, 12 August 2024. Interested candidates must submit their nomination applications to the competent committee during this period.
This by-election is being held to fill a vacant seat in the Council of Representatives for the First Constituency in Muharraq Governorate.
