HM King Hamad Attends Coronation of Malaysia's Sultan Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, participated Today in the coronation ceremony of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, son of the late Sultan Iskandar, King of the brotherly nation of Malaysia. This event, held at Istana Negara in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, was in response to an invitation from Sultan Ibrahim.

Upon arrival at the Balai Rong Seri of Istana Negara, His Majesty the King was welcomed by Mr Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, who greeted him with the Bahraini royal anthem played by the musical band.

Subsequently, His Majesty met with the King of Malaysia, who warmly received him. His Majesty extended heartfelt congratulations to the Malaysian King, expressing his best wishes for continued health, happiness, and success in his royal duties, contributing to Malaysia's progress and the well-being of its people.

His Majesty praised the strong and historic ties between Bahrain and Malaysia and the mutual strive to strengthening and expanding these relations across all fields. He reaffirmed his enduring interest in advancing close cooperation and joint efforts with Malaysia, serving the interests of both nations and fulfilling the aspirations of their peoples.

In return, the King of Malaysia thanked His Majesty for honouring the invitation to attend the coronation. He expressed profound appreciation for His Majesty's congratulations and kind sentiments, reflecting the deep and robust historical bonds between the two countries. He expressed deep admiration for His Majesty's efforts and persistent pursuit to elevate Bahraini-Malaysian relations to greater heights, wishing His Majesty good health and happiness and further progress and prosperity for the people of Bahrain.

The coronation ceremony began with the entrance of Sultan Ibrahim and his consort into the Balai Rong Seri Hall. The Holy Quran was then presented to His Majesty, followed by a welcoming speech from the Mr Anwar Ibrahim. Subsequently, the Malaysian King received the State Sword and took the oath, after which he delivered a speech welcoming distinguished guests and attendees. The ceremony concluded with the playing of Malaysia's national anthem and a 21-gun salute in honour of the King.

The coronation was attended by members of the official delegation accompanying His Majesty the King, the sultans of the Malaysian states, and senior officials and dignitaries from the Malaysian government.
