Northern Governorate Police Chief Responds on Unlawful Demonstration in Al Duraz Village
The Director General of the Northern Governorate Police Directorate confirmed that a group of individuals participated in an unlawful demonstration on the public streets of Al Duraz village and other areas, in response to inciting calls that violate the law.
Prior warnings had been issued against committing legal violations in the event of responding to these calls.
The Director General added that these individuals attacked the security forces tasked with maintaining public order, with the intention of preventing them from performing their duties.
"The participants in this group also engaged in acts of rioting, vandalism, and blocking public streets, and hurled iron rods and stones at police personnel," the Director General added.
He explained that in order to deal with the legal violations committed by the group, the participants were warned, but they failed to respond.
"This necessitated dealing with the situation according to the established legal procedures, ensuring the protection of properties and individuals. As a result of the confrontation, one of the participants was injured,", he added.
The relevant authorities have initiated their investigations into the incident and the police procedures for dealing with it, in accordance with the established regulations and procedures.
Additionally, the authorities are investigating the inciting calls that accompanied the incident, in order to uncover all the facts.
