Gulf Air unveils plans for high-tech MRO hangar at Bahrain International Airport

Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, has unveiled plans for a cutting-edge Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) hangar at Bahrain International Airport.
This development promises to enhance Bahrain’s aviation capabilities and signals the carrier’s drive for operational excellence and forward-thinking strategies.
The hangar, spanning over 20,000 square metres, will boast temperature-controlled aircraft bays fitted with stateof-the-art technology in aviation engineering, automation, and sustainability.
Features These features are designed to ensure top-notch efficiency and readiness for Gulf Air’s fleet as well as other operators.
The facility will also house warehouses, workshops, and a dedicated aircraft apron.
It aims to deliver high-quality and efficient maintenance services that meet the highest international standards, thus boosting Gulf Air’s operational capacity and offering growth opportunities for engineers, technicians, and aviation experts.
Enthusiasm Gulf Air Group Chief Executive Officer Dr Jeffrey Goh expressed his enthusiasm about the project, noting that it represents a significant step forward for Bahrain’s aviation sector.
This facility, the first of its kind dedicated to Gulf Air’s aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul needs, is set to enhance the skills and capabilities of Bahrain’s aircraft maintenance operations.
