Bahrain takes part in World Heritage Committee Meeting

The Arab Regional Centre for World Heritage is actively participating in the 46th World Heritage Committee meeting, which is being held in New Delhi, India, from July 21 to July 31, 2024.
His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Centre, is leading a delegation of experts and staff from the Centre.
During the meeting, which officially commenced with His Excellency’s attendance, the Centre will also host a series of side events in collaboration with international organizations.
These side events will focus on critical issues related to the preservation and conservation of the Arab world’s cultural and natural heritage.
The aim is to highlight the region’s rich cultural and natural treasures, provide guidance and support to Arab States Parties to the World Heritage Convention, and review the status of Arab World Heritage sites.
Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed emphasised the significance of the Centre’s participation in this prominent meeting.
He noted that the discussions will address essential and contemporary issues concerning Arab heritage.
The Centre plans to conduct events and discussion sessions to offer global attendees insights into local heritage challenges and potential solutions
