Thailand-based Bahraini declares candidacy

A Bahraini residing in Thailand has declared his candidacy for the by-elections in the First Constituency of Muharraq, following the court’s annulment of former MP Mohammed Al-Hussaini’s membership.
In a video posted on Instagram, Mohammed Al-Jowder conveyed that his decision to run was prompted by the encouragement of local residents.
He emphasised that he is not interested in showmanship and that the community is well aware of his journey and achievements.
Al-Jowder stated that he would not make the usual promises, but assured, “I will do my utmost to ensure a decent life to Bahrainis,” and indicated that if he fails in this endeavour, he would not seek re-election.
