Manama, Bahrain - The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), in collaboration with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), conducted a field visit to Bahrain International Airport (BIA) to oversee the ongoing implementation of the 2024 Tourism Survey. This comprehensive survey, running from January to December 2024, is a pivotal initiative aimed at gathering crucial tourism data and indicators.

The 2024 Tourism Survey is designed to support strategic initiatives that foster growth in Bahrain's tourism sector, with a ripple effect expected to benefit related economic sectors. By providing essential indicators, the survey plays a vital role in measuring the key metrics outlined in the 2022-2026 tourism strategy.

The field visit to BIA allowed the iGA and BTEA teams to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the field team in collecting data. This on-site supervision ensures that the survey is conducted accurately and efficiently, thereby guaranteeing the reliability of the information gathered.

The insights derived from the 2024 Tourism Survey will be instrumental in shaping policies and strategies that enhance Bahrain's tourism landscape. As the nation continues to develop as a premier destination, the data collected will provide a robust foundation for informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Both iGA and BTEA reaffirm their commitment to advancing Bahrain's tourism sector and leveraging data-driven approaches to achieve sustainable growth. The ongoing efforts underscore the importance of accurate data collection in driving the nation's economic and tourism development goals.
