The Kingdom of Bahrain, holding the presidency of the 33rd Arab Summit, participated in the "Mediators Retreat on the Situation in Sudan" held in Djibouti City on July 25th and 26th. The retreat brought together 32 countries and regional and international organisations, including the League of Arab States, the African Union, the United Nations, the European Union, and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), to discuss international initiatives and efforts aimed at achieving peace in Sudan.

Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Tarifi, Head of the Arab and African Affairs Sector, represented Bahrain at the retreat. In his address, he highlighted the outcomes of the Bahrain Summit held in May, where Arab nations emphasised the need for solidarity with Sudan and categorically rejected any external interference in its internal affairs. "The summit also reaffirmed Sudan's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity," he added.

Ambassador Al Tarifi reiterated Bahrain's stance on the importance of utilising all diplomatic channels to encourage Sudanese parties to reach a comprehensive and sustainable peaceful solution. He called upon the international community to stand by the Sudanese people and provide necessary support to humanitarian organizations operating in Sudan. He stressed the importance of supporting economic and infrastructure initiatives to rebuild Sudan and achieve lasting stability.
