Indian Embassy Hosts Open House, Announces Road Safety Campaign, and Provides Aid to Distressed Nationals

The Embassy of India organized an Open House on 26th July, 2024 which was chaired by Ambassador H.E. Mr. Vinod Kurian Jacob.  The Embassy’s Community Welfare team along with the Consular team and our panel lawyers were present. Over more than 50 Indian nationals took part in the Open House which was held in English Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam languages.

The Ambassador briefed on the Roads Safety Awareness Campaign to be held in Embassy premises on 2nd August, 2024 in co-ordination with Ministry of Works and General  Directorate of Traffic. He urged the community members specially drivers/motorcyclists to participate in the event, in large number.

Second Secretary (CW) / HOC along with the welfare officials visited Jau Jail to interact with the inmates and to ensure their welfare status. The Embassy also paid a visit to the Women's Detention Centre in Isa Town and distributed 15 support kits to the inmates present in the jail.

The Embassy provided air tickets to 6 distressed individuals who were affected by the recent fire incident occurred in Manama. Embassy also provided air tickets to a woman and children (2) who were left stranded after her husband was deported by the local authorities.

The Ambassador commended the Indian community and organizations for their collaboration with the Embassy in effectively addressing several consular and welfare matters.       

It was a productive interactive session. The grievances/issues of the Indian community were successfully addressed; some resolved at the open house, while others will be taken up at the earliest possible.
