The scene at the electoral center in Busaiteen remained relatively calm yesterday, the sixth day of displaying the voter list for the forthcoming Muharraq by-election, with a moderate number of voters turning up.

This voter list display is a key part of the by-election process, following the recent court decision to annul the membership of former MP Mohammed Al Hussaini.

Earlier this month, the seventh court of cessation issued this ruling.

Dr. Ali Al Shuwaikh, the Head of the Supervisory Committee, informed The Daily Tribune that today will be the last day for voters to verify the accuracy of their data.

He stressed that only those whose names are on the list will be eligible to vote in the upcoming by-election.

Al Shuwaikh added that voters whose names are missing from the list can request additions, changes, or corrections through the Supervisory Committee.

Voters can check their registration status on the official website or in person at the Al Busaiteen Intermediate Girls School, where the electoral centre is located.

This voter list display process upholds the integrity of the electoral system and ensures that eligible residents of the constituency have the chance to cast their ballots.

Potential candidates Dr. Essam Al-Alawi and Saleh Al-Sada yesterday visited the center.

Dr. Al-Alawi expressed confidence in his electoral prospects, predicting a decisive victory in the first round. Having reached the second round in the 2022 elections against the former MP Al-Alawi believes his chances have improved.

He said: “I believe that my chances will be better this time.”
